Alert and Warning (AWN)

Disaster alerts and warnings, such as Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) and the Emergency Alert System (EAS), provide critical, real-time information about life-safety threats (e.g., tornadoes, floods) directly to mobile phones, TVs, and radio. These systems, managed by FEMA and local authorities, require no sign-up and are designed to send alerts during emergencies.
