In the context of wildland firefighting, a Human Resource Specialist (HRSP) is a critical incident management position responsible for monitoring the work environment and ensuring appropriate human resource practices are followed during an incident.  Unlike a typical office-based HR role, an HRSP on a wildland fire operates within the Incident Command System (ICS) and reports directly to the Incident Commander (IC) as part of the Command Staff.
