The Economic Recovery Support Function (ERSF), led by the Economic Development Administration (or similar state/local entities, depending on the jurisdiction) under the National Disaster Recovery Framework (NDRF), facilitates sustainable post-disaster economic recovery. It leverages Federal and private sector resources to rebuild businesses, restore employment, and strengthen economic resilience for communities.
The Infrastructure Systems RSF supports local recovery by 1) ensuring permanent infrastructure is built sustainably and resilient, coordinating with partners to identify and address long-term restoration needs throughout recovery, and 2) providing technical assistance that supports the incorporation of innovative and green technologies to promote resilience and sustainability. Examples of activities the Infrastructure Systems RSF can support during a community’s long-term recovery efforts include the following:
Identify potential funding opportunities to support infrastructure recovery.
Work with Public Assistance and local governments, as needed, to identify any impacts to critical infrastructure after a disaster.
Develop a strategy to moderate and manage expectations for infrastructure recovery.
